1st :- If you are traveling first time and arrive in Delhi, it will be best to just relax first day and observe about people and things around you, mainly people who is too friendly or giving extra time to you. actually they are touts and they mainly target to first time traveler. there first question will be - first time in India ? if you say yes then there job start. most popularly they say i am student i can help you or wherever you want to go they will say - oh i am also going that side i can take you there. or i can take you to Government Tourist office. which they will never take you.
2nd :- Better not to choose Old Delhi to visit first day as it can be a big shock for you and you will not be able to enjoy it. it will be better to visit at the end of your trip if you are flying back from Delhi or 2nd day as Old Delhi have lots to do ( Food, History, Markets and lots to just see and observe ), it is very crowded but you will love it.
